The 80s T shirts also played a role in the decade's fashion trends. Some were verbal statements about a teenager's best loved rock band or maybe an all time favorite film. Others wanted their shirts to serve as personality statements with funny and whimsical sayings. This procedure results to a really good shirt but then, these appliqués unfortunately bubble, stiffen and peel of your shirt.

A short period after the manufacturers knew that they were heading to a successful project, somebody discovered that it would be easier and less costly for them to screen print designs.

Screen printing made the way for bulk designing and purchasing. It also allowed the shirts' for mass production.

Vacations also turned extra special with the help of souvenir shirts that would help commemorate their time in a specific place with someone special. Band 80s t shirts were in the rage especially among teenagers who want to promote their favorite musicians. Cartoon characters were also adorned in many adult and children's chests. These prints can oftentimes be faded or blotted and its edges tattered to generate exuberant and wonderful patterns in some cases.

The 1980s was also a year of distinctive colors, designs and styles. Many of the 80s shirts for women were also sized up a little bigger compared to the tight smaller shirts that were worn in the previous decade.

The 1980s was a prime time when individuals tried to look for ways of expressing their own individuality through sophisticated forms of creativity.

80s T-Shirts - What's Hot and What's Even Hotter
Executive Summary By Simon J Lewis

The 80s were my time. My favourite memory jogger of the 80s has to be T shirts. The trio of cultural influences that I absorbed most voraciously were TV, film and music. So, for any TV programme, feature film or band slash group of the 80s I'd love a T shirt. The range of designs is really quite varied. For example, recently, I have seen a flux capacitor design, a Doc Brown design - basically just Christopher Lloyd's head with the words 'Doc' and 'Brown' printed. Then there's a

Biff Tannen design with his head and the phrase 'Butthead'. But for sheer cool it's got to be a Delorean T shirt - just the letters DMC and the legend Delorean Motor Company.

So it's only fitting that I'd like a Young Ones T shirt. There's one with the five's heads (Alexei Sayle is included) silhouetted above the legend The Young Ones. Or failing that there's always a monochrome version of the University Challenge desk with the title Scumbag College. Wonderful wonderful stuff.
